One can easily reach Genting from Kuala Lumpur via car or taxi and enjoy the picturesque beauty on the either side of a six lane highway being built on a mountain. On the way to Genting from when it rains in Genting Highlands especially if you are driving as the visibility will drop to zero.
KL Easibook.com provides coach bus services from Kuala Lumpur instead of Puduraya to Genting Highlands First World Hotel.
There is a "Go Genting" bus service also running at KL Sentral. This bus will end at the cable car station at the foot of the mountains. You have to buy a cable car ticket to Genting Highlands.
A few things to watch out for :
(a) The road leading up the Genting are long and winding. Most first time travellers will get uncomfortable.
(b) The cable car allows only a certain luggage size into the cabin, very much like carry-on luggage on a plane, so just make sure you pack something compact.
(c) Once you reach up to Genting, as a first time vistor, you will be very very disoriented by the sights and sounds of the place. Even during low season, the place is packed full!
